(1752–1811)
Painter of the late Edo period; founder of the Shijō school. A native of Kyoto, Goshun studied with Yosa Buson and Maruyama Ōkyo, leading to a stylistic fusion of the literati style of the former with the naturalism of the latter. Goshun is credited with adding a more lyrical tone to the Maruyama-Shijō school.
