Nihonga painter from Okayama Prefecture. Mifune graduated from the Tokyo Fine Arts School. In 1910, he traveled extensively in Europe and in the United States. Mifune's standard subject matter centers on plants and vegetation. He cultivated a plethora of plants in and around his studio which he then would study and use as a basis for his paintings. Mifune was based in Osaka throughout much of his career.
