Late Edo-period Zen priest of the Rinzai school, born in Kyoto. Keishū practiced under Ungai of Engyōan, a subtemple of Tenryūji. He later transferred to Hōjōji in Tanba Province (near Kyoto) to study Zen under the priest Daidō Bunka but eventually returned to Engyōan.
