Nihonga painter from Tokyo. Kitada completed graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts, where he studied under Hirayama Ikuo. During his years as a student, Kitada primarily depicted women with pronounced lines. However, in recent times, he has drawn inspiration from classics and other sources to reveal his inner world. This involves a return to Eastern philosophy in order to reconstruct his perception of that world. Kitada actively participated in exhibitions, particularly the Japan Art Institute exhibitions. He served as a professor at Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music. He received numerous awards, including the Prime Minister’s Award and the Japan Art Academy Award.
