(1902–1989)
Nihonga painter from Yamaguchi Prefecture. Komatsu graduated from the Kawabata School of Painting, where he studied under Tsuchida Bakusen. While living a self-sufficient lifestyle in Ōhara, Kyoto, Komatsu immersed himself in creative activities and won the Minister of Culture Award and Prime Minister’s Award at the Japan Art Institute exhibitions. In addition, Komatsu received the Special Art Award of the Minister of Culture and the Special Culture Award of the Prefecture of Kyoto. Councilor of the Japan Art Institute and of the Nitten. Personal of Cultural Merit.
