Nihonga painter from Kanagawa Prefecture. Koizumi graduated from Tokyo School of Fine Arts. He studied with Yamamoto Kyūjin. Koizumi participated in the exhibitions of the Shinseisaku and Sōgakai art associations but later left these groups to focus on his solo exhibitions. He excelled at flower and ink landscape painting and in his later life moved to Kamakura, where he decorated the ceiling of Kenchōji and provided ceiling and sliding doors paintings for various other Buddhist temples. Koizumi also studied ceramics with Ogi Kyūjirō. He received the Special Award for Nihonga by the Yamatane Museum.
