(1927–1991)
Painter from Tokyo. A graduate from the Tokyo Fine Arts School, Kanosue studied with Umehara Ryūzaburō. He participated in the Kokuga art association and their group exhibitions. In 1958, Kanosue traveled to Europe with a scholarship of the Research Institute of Western European Art. He exhibited at the Exhibiting at Exposition International de L'Art Figuratif and after his return to Japan served as a teacher at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Kanosue left the Kokuga art association in 1972 and thereafter remained unaffiliated. Honorary professor at Tokyo University of the Arts.
