    Lacquer artist from Okayama Prefecture. Akagi graduated from the Philosophy program at Chūō University and initially worked as an editor. In 1988, he relocated to Wajima to study the art of Wajima lacquerware under Okamoto Susumu. In 1994, Akagi established his own studio. He creates lacquer works that aim to enrich the experience of contemporary everyday life.
